3rd and 4th Class Assembly

Last week our 3rd and 4th class had their first assembly of the year. Many awards were given out and Ms. Conlon's class gave an excellent musical performance. Well done to all!

Last week our local community Garda Linda called in to chat to all classes about the importance of safety around Halloween. She talked about the dangers posed by illegal fireworks and bonefires as well as tips on how to stay safe on Halloween night while trick or treating.

Last week Ms. Geraghty's fourth class had a trip into town to visit The National Museum on Kildare St.. A great day was had by all!

This week, our 5th class students helped their younger peers reflect on, and discuss their views on well-being in school. We used ipads to answer a survey.

Junior Football

Our junior teams both finished their gaelic football season this week. Our boys had a good win away to Star of the Sea while our girls team received a walkover from Scoil San Treasa. Well done to all the boys and girls who togged out for the teams this year.

Ten of our 5th Class students have been chosen as Microsoft Dreamspace Ambassadors. Football Update

Both of our senior teams have now progressed to the knockout stages of the Cumann na mBunscol. Our girls are away in Lucan next week while our boys will have a home fixture. Our junior teams will both have their final gaelic game of the season next week.

On Tuesday we had our first assembly of the year for fifth and sixth class. The importance of safety if near bonfires or fireworks in the run up to Halloween was discussed. VR Headsets

Our fifth class have been learning about different types of housing in history recently. They used our VR headsets to explore the houses of ancient civilizations right up to present day. The first image below shows what is displayed in the headset, these are 3D worlds that the kids move through using a joystick.

New Futsals

We were delighted to receive a set of 24 Futsal footballs from the FAI recently. This will enable us to have a ball for each child in a class during a PE lesson about football.
