St. Olaf’s are carrying out our first ever wellbeing week from April 4th to 8th as part of our mission to receive an Amber flag for the school – an initiative run by Pieta to promote positive mental health practices and awareness in schools.
As part of this week, we incorporated activities such as yoga sessions, mindfulness, creating compliment clouds, gratitude cards, DREAM time (drop everything and meditate) as well as a bake sale to raise funds for Pieta. We were lucky enough to have ‘No written homework’ across the school this week so that students could carry out some wellbeing activities with their families at home.
We were also extremely fortunate to have a parent volunteer come into the school and carry out meditation and stretch classes, as well as reflexology practices with every class in the school. We look forward to making this an annual initiative!
