The senior boys hurling team had a great start to the year on Thursday evening getting a 5-6 to 5-4 win over a talented St Mary’s Booterstown team in Deerpark. St Mary’s made the better start by getting some early goals but some exceptional goalkeeping by Daniel and great defending from Liam, Sam and Hayk kept Olafs in the game. St Olaf’s responded with well taken goals by Ronan and Luke Mc. Thomas and Conor added points to leave Olafs leading at half time. St Olaf's started the second half strongly with good work in the middle by Luke L and Ciarán and good forward play from Evan, Cameron and Patrick. St Mary's came back into the game but St Olaf's were able to hold on through some great clearances by Leo, Aaron and Cian. It was great to see some of the fourth class getting to wear the St. Olaf's jersey for the first time and showing great signs for the future of hurling in St Olaf's.
Panel for the day: Daniel, Sam, Liam, Hayk, Leo, Thomas, Ciarán. Luke L, Aaron, Evan, Luke Mc, Cameron, Ronan, Conor, Patrick, Cian, Shea, Harry, Liam D, Liam M, and Kevin
