Say Yes to Languages

Mr. Kearns and Mr. Duignan’s fifth classes have started learning Spanish as part of the Say Yes to Language programme funded by the Department of Education. Pupils will take part in games and activities making comparisons with all the languages and culture they encounter every day. The programme will also focus on learning some basic Spanish phrases and the culture of Spanish speaking countries. This will help children develop an interest in languages ahead of secondary school. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the diverse range of languages and cultures in our school. Watch out for some of our “Language Ambassadors” handing out stickers on Fridays.
