G.P.O. Trip

On Friday the 25th of April Mr. Maher and Ms. Geraghty's 6th class went on a trip to the GPO

At half past nine, we left school and walked to the LUAS. At ten o'clock we arrived on O'Connell Street and walked to the GPO.

We were split into three groups and were given a quick talk about the history of the GPO and the 1916 Rising.

Afterwards, we split up and explored the museum. We were all given headphones and audio devices to listen to different facts about different topics to do with the rising.

We watched a short seventeen minute film about the Rising. We were at the GPO for about an hour and afterwards we walked to Burger King. We all brough €10 each to buy ourselves food and drink there.

Afterwards we all headed up to a playground in St. Stephen's Green.

At about half past one, we got back on the LUAS and were back at the school by two o'clock. When we were back at the school, we spent the last half hour looking at pictures taken on the tour.
